What is the difference between the Standard & Ultimate Pro Chillers?
The Standard Chiller is a simple, residential-grade unit. It cools water down to about 3 °C, uses analog controls, and is plug-and-play. Because it does not include built-in filtration, you’ll likely change the water more often to keep things fresh.
The Ultimate Pro Chiller is our next-generation, industrial-grade option. It adds Wi-Fi app control and scheduling, a stronger 120 W pump for steady circulation, and a professional three-stage filtration system that combines a 20-micron filter, a large-particle prefilter, and ozone. The filtration housing is 10 × 4.5 in, giving roughly 3× the capacity for clearer water and better protection of the internals. The chassis carries UL and CSA certifications, uses IPX5 water-jet resistance, and connects with leak-proof camlock fittings, so you can use it confidently indoors or outdoors with a simple once-a-month care routine.
If you want the easiest day-to-day experience with cleaner water and stronger, more consistent cooling, choose the Ultimate Pro. If you prefer a basic setup and don’t mind more frequent water changes, the Standard is a good choice.
What's changed with the new Ultimate Pro Chiller?
We rebuilt the Ultimate Pro around real customer feedback and our community. The new model delivers 2900 W of cooling power for faster pull-down to 3 °C and steadier temperatures during your session. At the core is a 120 W industrial pump that is twice as strong, which improves flow, reduces strain on components, and supports long-term reliability.
Water clarity was another focus. The filtration system now uses a larger 10 × 4.5 in housing with three stages, giving about 3× the filtrationcapacity. That means fewer filter swaps, cleaner water, and better protection for the chiller over time. We also improved sealing and durability with IPX5 water-jet resistance, leak-proof camlock connections, and a service-friendly layout that keeps access straightforward if maintenance is ever needed.
Finally, the experience is easier. You can set the temperature, schedule sessions, and check status from the app, while the unit runs quieter and feels more refined overall. The Ultimate Pro Chiller is a cooling-only design by intent. It focuses on what matters most for daily cold therapy: strong, consistent cooling, clean water, and simple upkeep.
Can I leave the ice bath outside year-round?
Yes, the tub can live outdoors year-round. When temperatures drop below 0 °C, you need to disconnect and store your chiller indoors and switch to our optional plug-in water-heater accessory. It keeps the water safely above freezing through Canadian winters, even in extreme cold (-40C). Water chillers are not designed to operate or heat in any serious sub-zero ambient conditions.
What is the temperature range of the ice bath chillers?
Both of our chillers can cool water between 3° C and 20° C.
Can I leave my chiller outside when not in use?
Both models can live outdoors, but protection levels differ. The Ultimate Pro Chiller is IPX5 (resistant to water jets), while the Standard Chiller is IPX4 (resistant to splashes and light rain).
We recommend pro-actively shielding your chiller from direct rain fall, dust and debris if you want to extend its lifespan. You should always maintain adequate air flow around it.
How often should I change the water in my ice bath?
Ultimate Pro Chiller: Our simple once-a-month protocol means you only need to change your water and your filter once a month if you use them in conjunction with our suite of affordable water treatment products.
For the standard chiller, you should change you filter bi-weekly and your water at least once a month if you use them in conjunction with our suite of affordable watet treatment products.
How often should I replace the filters in my chiller?
Ultimate Pro: Our filter housing is now 3 times bigger, allowing you to go through an entire month with a single filter. Regularly changing the filter helps maintain water quality by removing impurities and ensuring the system functions optimally and is also required to maintain your warranty.
Standard: You should change your filter twice per month.
How long does it take for the chiller to cool the water?
After the bath is filled with water and the chiller is turned on, it takes approximately 3.5 hours for the water temperature to reach 3° C for our newest ultimate pro model, and 5h for the standard chiller.

This level of control ensures that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Are Nordik Recovery products CSA approved?
Yes! Our newest ultimate pro water chiller is UL and CSA certified.
What are the benefits of using an ice bath?
Reduced Muscle Soreness: The study found that participants who engaged in post-exercise ice bath immersion reported significantly lower levels of muscle soreness compared to the control group, suggesting that cold exposure may contribute to faster recovery.
Improved Muscle Function: Ice bath participants exhibited enhanced muscle function in subsequent exercise sessions, indicating that regular cold exposure may have positive effects on muscular performance and recovery.
Inflammation Modulation: Analysis of inflammatory markers showed a decrease in post-exercise inflammation in the ice bath group, suggesting a potential role of cold therapy in modulating the inflammatory response associated with intense physical activity.
